Time to Wine and Dine
Let’s find the best wine for Thanksgiving, shall we? As you might expect, turkey wine pairings vary depending on the flavor profile you go for. Some seasoning blends call for a rich, hearty red, while others might warrant a soft white. Or, you can always jazz things up with a rosé. When it comes to wine, we don’t think you can really go wrong.
Red Wine (e.g., Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon)
When you think about Thanksgiving and wonder what wine goes with turkey, chances are, you think of a classic, rich red. These rich, bold flavors are great choices if you prefer dark meat like turkey thighs or if your Thanksgiving dinner includes hearty dishes like roast beef or lamb.
Here are three of our red pours, including our newest varietal, Pinot Noir:
Pinot Noir
Made from organically grown grapes, our Pinot Noir has a dry palate with heavenly cherry flavors. The finish expresses light tannins with hints of oak and vanilla.
- Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir
- Vintage: 2022
- Region: California
Cabernet Sauvignon
Our California Cabernet shows beautiful aromas of ripe boysenberry, cassis, and a touch of mocha and coffee. On the palate, this wine is supple with soft tannins and a velvety texture and is replete with black cherry and a hint of vanilla.
- Varietal: 98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% other
- Vintage: 2020
- Region: Mendocino County, California
Our Spanish red wine blend is made from organically grown Bobal and Merlot grapes and has red fruit aromas with subtle toasted notes. It is full-bodied, fresh, and balanced on the palate, with hints of chocolate and spice.
- Varietal: 55% Bobal, 45% Merlot
- Vintage: 2021
- Region: Valencia, Spain
White Wine (e.g., Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling)
White wines are equally versatile but a touch brighter. They are wonderful varietals to accompany a variety of dishes. These pours are often regarded as the best wine for Thanksgiving since they’re well-suited for lighter fare, such as white meat turkey breast, mashed potatoes, or seafood (if that’s what your family fancies). The crisp acidity of white wines helps refresh and cleanse the palate between bites and dishes—perfect for the full table that Thanksgiving brings.
If white wine is what you’re wanting, here’s what we have to offer:
Our bright California Chardonnay unleashes aromas of pear and apricot, with hints of nuts and vanilla. The palate is rich and slightly buttery and has the perfect amount of toast.
- Varietal: 98.45% Chardonnay, 1.52% Pinot Blanc, 0.03% Muscat Canelli
- Vintage: 2022
- Region: Mendocino County, California
Our Sauvignon Blanc has delightful ruby grapefruit and floral aromas. The palate is ripe with Fuji apple and melon flavors and finishes with lemon-lime and juicy guava fruit.
- Varietal: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
- Vintage: 2022
- Region: Languedoc, France
Rosé
Our light and crisp Rosé wine bottle is dry in style with a fresh and dainty nose of raspberry and strawberry. The palate is balanced with notes of apple, peach, and rose petals. The grapes were all organically grown in the South of France.
- Varietal: 45% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Pinot Noir
- Vintage: 2021
- Region: Languedoc, France
