Winemaking Notes

Cabernet Sauvignon
Our soft and velvety California Cabernet Sauvignon is made from organic grapes grown on the highland valleys and mountain slopes of Mendocino County. Warm fermentation temperatures (around 80° F) are used to extract maximum color, flavor, and tannins from select Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard blocks. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 14 months on French oak.

Red Blend
Our Red Blend is made in Valencia, Spain by a father-son duo who is committed to organic viticulture and utilizing terroir to develop refined and complex wines. The Bobal and Merlot grape varieties are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts. After fermentation, the wine remains on the skins for a few days and is then barrel-aged for 4 months.

Pinot Noir
Our Pinot Noir is sourced from a single vineyard in California with a Mediterranean climate characterized by hot summer days and cool summer nights. A small portion of the wine has oak influence to complement the grapes' delicate natural flavors.

Orange
Unlike traditional white wines, orange wines are created by fermenting white grapes on their skins, a process typically reserved for reds. This method imparts both its striking color and layered complexity. For our Orange Wine, the wine remained on the skins for 21 days, slowly evolving from pale yellow to golden to a beautiful orange. Once fermentation was complete, the grapes were pressed to reveal a truly distinctive wine that balances freshness with depth. 

We made our Orange Wine from organic Chenin Blanc grapes from the Clarskburg Delta area in California, an appellation renowned as the best New World region for this varietal. The unique climate of Clarksburg sets it apart: warm mornings give way to cooling breezes from the San Francisco Bay, preserving the grape’s vibrant natural acidity while allowing full expression of flavor.

Do I need to be home to accept the package?

An adult signature (21+) is required at the time of delivery. UPS will only attempt delivery 3 times before returning the package to us. Once the package has been returned to us, we have to charge full rate shipping to send it again – and neither of us wants that! If you’re having trouble being home during delivery times, please remember you can contact UPS and have them hold the package at a nearby facility for you to pick up.

What states do you ship to?

We currently ship to the following states: AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, NY, NC, ND, OH, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI, and WY.

Unfortunately, we do not ship to the following states at this time: AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, KY, LA, ME, MS, NJ, OK, RI, and UT.

What wines can I ship to CT?

Due to local laws, we are unable to ship foreign-produced wines to CT. Accordingly, we can ship our California Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir or Orange Wine to CT. Shop for those here

How long does it take for orders to process and ship?

Our current order processing time is 2-3 business days. We ship all orders with UPS 3-day delivery. Some orders in some regions may ship with UPS ground, but are expected to arrive within 3 business days. We will send you an email as soon as we ship your order so you can keep an eye on your Wander + Ivy wine!

How much does shipping cost?

Orders of $150+ qualify for FREE shipping. All other orders qualify for $20 flat rate ground shipping.
